Before the Overnight Report begins... It's been a very rough week emotionally inside the Big Brother 16 house. Friday night, the HGs were touched by another tragic loss at home.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Derrick and his family on the passing of his grandfather yesterday morning. There is no such thing as the timely death of a loved one, and each individual handles grief in their own way. Derrick's way is very quiet. I'm grateful that since he can't be with his family, he is with this group of compassionate HGs.

Nicole: I don't mind bein' a have not. Like, I deifnitely think you have to be one to have the experience.. But at this point, I just wanna eat my brains off.
Amber: Did you sleep well at all last night?
Nicole: It's honestly not horrible if I have the pillow under my hip.. but it's just so hard to fall asleep in there.
Victoria and Amber go to check on her laundry in the dryer... 5 more minutes..
Nicole: I have so much lasundry to do, but I'm not staying up for it. You don't sleep a lot do you?
Amber: No, not in here.
Nicole: Do you in your normal life?
Amber: Not really.. I'm a homebody, but sometimes I feel like if I don't go to this or that, I'm gonna miss out. But I really love my alone time.
Nicole: Me too.
Amber: I really like to write a lot.
Nicole: Me too..
Amber: It's kind of therapeutic to put it all out there.. For me, the perfect thing is to come home, have my candles, make dinner, write, find a movie, lay in bed, put my phone on silent, eat ice cream.
Nicole: Sounds awesome.. I would love that night.
Amber: Just escaping from the world, from reality, is good for me.
Nicole: I want to live in an apartment, broke, by myself.. My friends think I'm nuts. I feel like it's a part of growing up.
Amber: Do it. If that's what you wanna do, you should definitely do that.
Nicole: I don't have anything against going home.
Amber: Home will always be there.
Nicole: If this opportunity hadn't come, I would've definitely spent the rest of my like in Obly..
Amber: You're venturing out.. I've always ventured out.. NY, Florida.. I got in my car and drove here..
I called my mom a couple days later, and said, ok, I don't have a plan, but I want to give it a year here..

Amber: I like everyone in the house. Even though Zach and Devin drove me crazy, I still have a little soft spot for em.

2:15am Both Amber and Hayden get up to go to bed.. Nicole is happy to have some alone time.. and in no hurry to get to her ice block.
2:17am After brief fishies, Nicole races across the backyard and into the house.
Nicole: I just got called to the DR.
**nice response time! I loathe HGs who get called to the DR and take it as a sign to put makeup on for an hour.

Amber: I took his towels so he can't get out of the shower.
Cody: Hey, Nicole, can you come bring me a towel, please?
Nicole tosses him one. Traitor.
Cody: Love the insults. Hey, Amber, when was the last time you said something nice to me?
Amber: 5 minutes ago. Be quiet, Cody. You're bein' a little punk now.
Cody: I'm a little punk. You just stole all my towels. You have no idea what's gonna come your way now. You started it.
Amber: That was so small.
Nicole: Ok, so when's this back lotioning happening? Oh my gosh, Cody. That's bad. You probably need me to lotion it 4 times a day.

So strange that two houseguests lose a family member so close together. I'm thankful that Jacosta has been able to pray with and comfort them. I think offering to do a service is thoughtful.
Sounds like BoB was not one guys would've done well with. Too bad none were up!!
Ok. Call me crazy but if all 3 Team America members make it to jury, they HAVE to know that whichever goes to jury first is gonna probably out the other two! Maybe even on the way out the door. It could totally wreck their games unless the final 2 are the only choices from which to choose a winner. The jury may just hate that they were manipulated so deeply.
Christine needs to get over being nommed. She's done so little. Truth hurts.

I'm disappointed with the BOB results, I don't really care which HG goes home, it would have been more entertaining with Zach as HOH.
Cody is good at these flirtmances.
Do we know if TA completed their assignment?

This group has such control of the game it really doesn't matter what they do this week.
The only shot, I see, of shaking things up is a double eviction with the right set of HOHs. Other than that this season appears to be on a course that will be hard to change.

Truly saddened by another loss…The news of Derricks grandpa passing.
There is something special about this cast that separates them from other's. They are genuinely good people and in times of personal tragedy come together to show their love and support.

So, as I see it right now, I consider the alliance to basically be Derrick, Frankie, Cody and Zack. Caleb is disposable to them at this point. Amber and Christine always were. Within this group of four we have Tres Amigos (CDZ) a final 2 of ZF, a final 2 of DC and a final 3 of DF and their fellow TA member, Donny.
I don't know who is actually loyal to who and for that reason I never really know where anyone stands and am not even sure of my own opinion from one day to the next. This is how I see things right now.
To begin with, I don't see any actual true loyalty between any of the HGs this year. I see friendships, but no true Renegades, Brigade or Chilltown.
Derrick-I did not like him as HOH. He seemed a little power hungry. He has mellowed and I do agree is playing the best game. However, his game is very similar to Frankie's game. For some reason he still gets more appreciation, in and out of the house, while Frankie is considered a snake. I absolutely do NOT agree that Derrick made the first big move of the season by getting Devin out. Everyone, including Devin, knew he was the target. It is the one time that the entire house was on board. It wasn't a surprise, a blindside or even a backdoor. It was the easiest move of the season. Even Devin didn't put up much of a fight.
Frankie-I see him playing the same game as Derrick but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to be translating that way. He tries to be friends or friendly with all but stays true to the course. He has probably done the most to try to calm the waters and be the glue that holds his alliance together but for some reason even they don't trust him. I don't like it. Like anyone, he tries to deflect attention from himself and get as little blood on his hands as possible. But I have heard his alliance bring up his name as a target far more than I have ever heard Frankie bring up their names. I do think Frankie is afraid to make a big move though. This may be the week he should take that chance. The best move he could make is to BD Zack. Before you throw things at me, I DO NOT want Zack to leave, especially if the friendship between him and Frankie is genuine. On a game level, it would earn Frankie points among all the non-alliance members in the house. The 3 on the fringe of the alliance-Caleb, Amber, Christine-would be thrilled. And even Derrick and Cody are starting to view Zack as a liability.
Cody-Once again, why is Frankie a snake but not Cody. Cody also talks to everyone, is friends with everyone, and goes a step beyond just being friendly with most of the girls. He definitely throws his alliance members under the bus. He always has with Frankie and is starting to do so with Zack. He is wishy washy. He wants people out but doesn't want to be the one to cause hurt feelings. He wants to deflect all the blame right down to Brittany. Either he's in it for the alliance or he's in it for the girl. He was the HOH last week and ultimately, he made the decision. He needs to be a man and own it.
Zack-He gets his own section because this is already far too long.
Hello Carolyn and amazing Dishy family!
I have a lot of catching up to do, but wanted to drop in and let everyone know that my father-in-law made it through his heart procedure with flying colors! They do have to go in and repeat it on the opposite side in a few weeks, dependent on his recovery time from this one, but they aren't expecting any problems. Then sometime after that, not sure how long, he will have to go to the U of M hospital down in Ann Arbor to have a valve replacement. That will be even riskier than what he has already been through, especially with his current health issues, but we are all very hopeful. He is recovering nicely and after decades of being a 3 pack a day smoker, says he is DONE!! That is going to be a big help for him in the coming months if he can stick to his guns :-)
It has been a crazy long week, and I have logged in here to try and stay caught up as much as I can, plus I finally got around to watching both Weds & Thurs episodes last night on my DVR. I still have some reading to do here, but wanted to especially address someone before I went any further...

I saw a post from you during one of the viewing parties (can't remember which one right now, my brain is a bit fried after the last few days hehe!) asking about me and my FIL. I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for thinking about me and my family <3 This is definitely a second home to me during the summer months, and I love you all like family!! Zack-I hated you after your pre-season interview and have enjoyed every moment of having you on the show. But, are you playing a good game? Uh, no.
I mean, at the end of the day, if Zack is playing for or with his alliance, he sucks. If he is playing for the fans and only cares about entertaining us and not about winning, he's awesome. If he is playing for himself and doesn't really care what the fans want or what his alliance wants, that is a risky move. Dr. Will didn't become a legend because he was an ass. He became a legend because he was able to win in spite of or maybe even because of being an ass. But even Will couldn't do it alone. He had Boogie. Now, if Frankie could be Zack's Boogie they could make an awesome team. I don't think Frankie could ever be that mean though.
Aside from game, I do hope Zack considers his friendship with Frankie real and not just part of his game.
Regarding his game, once again, if he's playing for us then he's amazing. If he is playing with/for his alliance he is awful and in no way should be referred to as a hero the way he has been on twitter.
He wasn't up on the block because Frankie sold him out. He wasn't even there because Devin turned on him. He was there because he asked, dared and practically begged to be there.
He didn't stick up for Cody because he was the only one on Cody's side (in regards to Cody playing his own game). One-you can't play an individual game if you are in an alliance. Two-people will continue to debate if nominating Brittany/Caleb was the smarter move for Cody. Bottom line, Zack wanted Caleb OTB for drama, not for Cody's game.
Zack was again called a hero for trying to get Brittany to call a house meeting. Why? Who would that have helped? Not his alliance. Definitely not Cody. He didn't do it for Brittany. He talked as much crap about her as anyone and a house meeting would have made her look like an idiot and caused her more pain. He wanted Brittany to do that for drama, for entertainment.
My real question-Is Zack really trying to entertain us? OR Is he a spoiled and bored kid with a big wallet and a bigger ego who came on BB simply to entertain himself?
I hope Cody can save Amber from the block.He can't keep evicting potential allies
I tend to agree with you, Grendon. As entertaining as Zach is he is not good for an alliance, nor is he doing himself any favors in furthering his progress in the game. I do, however, believe his fondness for Frankie is genuine.
About the rest of the males....spot on, as usual.
Missaliss73....glad your FIL made it through surgery. U of M is a wonderful hospital. Will continue to hold good thoughts for him and your family.

I think Frankie is playing the game well but I don't care for him. Derrick is doing the best. Donny sees a lot but as a super fan why doesn't he see the need to align with someone. Is it that he things he's already aligned with the top 2 players in his TA alliance?
Zach is someone who acts outrageously so no one will see the real him. I think this is true in real life too.

I have a feeling TA was not successful at their task. I think Christine and Nicole just sat in shock like they were back in HS. What they need is for Zach to win the veto and then during the ceremony call out Amber and Caleb in a blindside. Maybe (maybe) one of them will show some fire...
Thats what this season is lacking! Sure they all seem like nice people.. So what? This is BB! Show me the anger. Last year was the season of Scum, but this year the producers over corrected. Even the purist among us knows they live for the Jen/Dick, Brenchel/Brit, Ronny/everyone, Dan/Jerry, Chima/Russel/Jeff/Natalie/Shelly/Clownshoe

I think Zach is definitely trying to entertain himself. Thats who he is. But he is also trying to win the money. It may not appear like he is doing a good job, but I think he is doing the best job at being Zach. Lots of people go into BB and try to be someone they arent and they get buried when the game turns on them. There is only one winner. 2nd - 16th tie for last. Take your shot and spin the wheel. I feel so sad for Derrick. I know a lot of people don't agree with me but he's my favorite and I'm pulling for him to win. I like his calmness and he seems level headed. I also like the way he respects his wife and handles the ladies in the house. Everyone in the house seems to respect him. I personally have not heard anyone in the house dog him in any way so I feel if he gets to final two he will win unless he is sitting there with Donnie.
I'm ducking that bottle Grendon is throwing at me! lol.
There was a good convo last night between Zach and Frankie (sorry I didn't capture the time) right before they called it a night. Frankie told Zach he had to mend fences with Christine otherwise that was a vote lost for him and the alliance. When Zach said he never told Nicole she shouldn't trust Christine Frankie looked at him and said "are you sure, because you say a lot when you get rolling". LOL Zach owned up to that but still denied it. Then Frankie said "did you maybe imply it" and then Zach admitted it. LOL
A few minutes later while talking about BDing Amber, Zach asked what Frankie thought would happen if Amber heard about the plan right after the POV comp. Frankie took a second and said "meaning from you?" Zach then said yes because you know I talk too much. When Frankie said then Amber would campaign hard for Zach to be the renom Zach said "you should just lock me in the bathroom to keep my mouth shut".

Grendon, i agree with you with the way HGs view Frankie. i guess because he is "louder" than Derrick? but like you said, they are pretty much playing the same game, and yet being viewed so differently.
re Zach - whatever his reasons are for his chaos-inducing ways, i think he truly cares for his core alliance and at some level, even the other HGs. i think there is something going on with that boy outside the BB house that makes him who he is inside the house. i haven't heard him really talk about his parents but is obviously devoted to his younger brother, which may or may not be telling.
i like them all, in varying levels of course. i think BB did well in this year's group of HGs.
rowdyyates - Carolyn is spending hours transcribing hours upon hours of conversations for you to read. It's free unless you decide to be kind enough to tip. If she wants to fixate on an attractive male, I'm very sure that's her choice and was a little rude of you to say anything. You don't have to read here, just sayin'. :)
It doesn't seem fair does it Grendon. But Derrick and Cody are both smoother at the game than Frankie is. The best I can tell the only person that is onto Derrick is Donny, but most of the houseguests seem to recognize Frankie's game.
Right now, IMO, there are two alliances that matter, Derrick/Cody and Frankie/Zach everyone else seems to being used by these two.
There may be some hope for a Donny/Hayden/Nicole, but it depends on Donny getting an HOH and getting one of the power players out.
So far the game belongs to Derrick.

I agree that Zack is being true to himself. On comparing him to Jordon as far as his chance to win, I'm not so sure. Jordon got to the end because she didn't cause waves. Zack causes a tidal wave. If he makes it to the end, I agree that he could have a good shot at winning. But if he constantly plays the role of mischievous child he will need a strong alliance to help protect him or his chances of making it to the end are slim. Right now his alliance is not sure he's worth the risk.

No bottle throwing. Although he's still not my personal favorite I do like Derrick. And I do agree he is probably playing the best game. The double standard of him being judged differently than Frankie isn't his fault. I wouldn't hold that against him if he was in the final 2.
You missed a game conversation at 2:15am between Cody and Derrick It was about how Amber or Caleb could not be put yet because they would expose them all I couldn't hear who they wanted up instead

I just mean in terms of them being themselves and also no one gave Jordan a chance at this point either. I dont think Zach has a good chance to win now, but neither does anyone else.
